Australia’s Most Iconic Animals - Kangaroo and Koalas!
Our company was born and bred at Bells Beach, Torquay, the start of the Great Ocean Road. We are passionate about Australia, the environment, and all it’s flora and fauna. At e3 Products, you could say we’re pretty enamoured by our two most iconic native animals - kangaroos and koalas! So much so that we make unique, useful and sustainable souvenirs that feature these animals, so you can remember your encounters with our national icons and keep your memories alive forever.
HOP RIGHT IN!
Kangaroos are not only native to Australia, they are incredibly distinctive and famously known as one of the most iconic Australian animals Down Under. Tourists and locals alike flock to Australia’s countryside, Zoos and National Parks to see them. There are so many great places to get up close and personal with them, with Animal Encounters offered at places like Taronga Zoo and Australia Zoo and even wildlife rehabilitation and refuge centres in your state.
Did you know that Kangaroos can grow up to 2 metres tall and weigh close to 90 kilos, with a diet consisting of grass, flowers and leaves? There are 45 species of kangaroos in Australia, with the most common being the Red Kangaroo, Eastern Grey Kangaroo and the Western Grey Kangaroo. Female Kangaroos carry baby kangaroos, called joeys, in their pouch, and while multiple births have never been recorded, occasionally two joeys will have to share its mother’s pouch as they often give birth to a joey every 9-12 months.
Don’t call me a Koala Bear!
Although people commonly refer to Koalas as “Koala Bears” based on their teddybear-like appearance, they are actually a marsupial. Found only in our country, the Koala is as iconically Australian as it gets! If you want to see one of these furry little fellas in their native habitat, you’ll have to visit QLD, NSW, SA or VIC as they cannot be found in all states of Australia. A visit to the Australian Bush enclosure at the Melbourne Zoo will be sure to showcase some beautiful Koalas, who weigh between 5 and 12 kilos and have been know to live for up to 10 years living off a diet of eucalyptus leaves.
We encourage you to get outdoors and explore this magical country, and see our Aussie animals in their natural state if possible. At e3 products, we believe that the act of travelling encourages us to think outside the box, and the more we explore the country, visit places you have dreamed of, and engage with new experiences, the more people will choose to live more sustainably to protect our precious environment.
